Polar Industries was a pioneer in the use of CNC hot-wire fabrication beginning in the early 1980s.  Our goal remains the same today, to engineer simplicity.

Starting with your complex packaging requirements of OEM production constraints we use our technology and experience to develop cost effective product that meet your needs.

CNC hot-wire cutting is one of the most basic techniques for developing custom parts to solve packaging or production problems.  A heated wire is used as the cutting tool when fabricating expanded plastic materials.  The wire is mounted on a frame which is articulated on both X and Y axes.  the frame is driven by motors which are numerically controlled by computer (CNC).  The functioning is very similar to an Etch-a-Sketch(TM) drawing toy.   With simultaneous movement along both axes the machine can reproduce any curve.   This allows for infinite variation where two dimensional contours are appropriate.

With our networked CAD workstations, the shop floor has instant access to refined designs and can implement them without any fixturing or tooling costs.

Years of experience and advanced technology mean economical, precise and consistent part for your packaging or OEM needs.
